D3- Minature 17 in Windmill Plain Tail
This 17" mini windmill is made in the midwest of the USA by a company that has been making these since 1946. The wheel turns on Lubricant impregnated OILON Bearings, the top turns toward the wind on a brass bearing.Just like real windmills that used to be seen all over the Midwest this mini windmill turns toward the wind to show wind direction. These can be used outside, on your patio, in a rock garden, as part of a planter display, in a window box or on your rural mailbox. It can also be used inside on a desk or mantel, part of a toy farm set or model train layout (it is fairly close to G scale - and would look OK with an 027 layout). You probably could mount these on an apartment window sill or balcony rail for those wanting to bring a small piece of the country to the city.As with our 8 foot and 4.5 foot windmills there are cheap Chinese copies out there that plain and simply are not the same quality. Beware of the cheap Chinese copy windmills!! This mini windmill is Made in the USA, the detail and quality are excellent. This windmill arrives in a 15" X 6" X 2" box and requires assembly. Assembly is sort of like working with the old Gilbert Erector kit only with smaller bolts and nuts. It takes around 2 hours to put one of these together. There are complete instructions and a full size drawing included. We are including a FREE "pocket" screwdriver with each kit that is a must have for assembly.These mini 17 inch windmills are a perfect gift. They actually work and can be left outside. You will need to anchor the legs down to something solid if you have them outside.Be sure to take a look at our other windmills - all made in the USA.
